Leadership Team

Ryan Waite

Leadership Team Chair

First and foremost, Ryan is a ‘PK’ (Pastor’s Kid) who literally grew up running around within the walls of his home church.  Fastforward to now, Ryan is a husband and father of two young children, eagerly encouraging and watching his own children grow up (also running around) inside the church. An engineer by training, Ryan works hard to design, build and execute; and he is passionate about using that same drive to serve God’s vision for Bethany Covenant Church.
Ryan has been a member of Bethany Covenant Church since 2010, and has served in various roles, ranging from sound tech, off-key choir member, lawn mower, youth group volunteer, Youth Education Chair, Chair of the Vitality team, and was part of the recent ‘Dream Again’ team.  His passion is strategic planning and vision casting, and is excited to serve as chair of the Leadership Team and collaborate with the Staff and Ministry Teams of Bethany Covenant Church!

Rod Kabfleish

Leadership Team Vice-Chair

Rod grew up in a Christian home and had 2 wonderful examples as parents. Mom was a Mennonite and dad started as a potato farmer (Idaho) then turned to engineering. Rod met his wife Patty in college (Roberts Wesleyan) and have been married for 36 years. They have two adult children; Tim, soon to be married, and Bob who is married Dianne.

Patty and Rod came to Bethany in 1999. They have served in many areas including: Youth (10 years), choirs, Fellowship and Service, mission trips, and church leadership.

As the Vice-Chair, Rod chairs the “Staff Relations team” and fills in for the chair as needed.

Rod works at Eversource Energy as the Director of Engineering. Don’t let that scare you, he is one of those extroverted engineers! His passion is connecting people with the Lord, each other and to opportunities for service. So, you will likely find him in the kitchen making coffee alongside his wife and friends.

Kim Sisson

Financial Officer

Kim grew up as a PK (Pastor’s Kid) happily absorbing ‘Bible Vitamins’ (daily Bible verses) each morning. She and her husband Glen (married 35 years in 2022) have four adult children, two married in the fall of 2021. They started attending Bethany in 2008 and taught adult Sunday School classes for 8 years. Kim also served as Treasurer for 10 years.

She and Glen have led numerous mission trips to China, Vietnam, and Thailand to share Jesus’ love and hope.  Kim continues to travel to Thailand to minister to persecuted refugees from Burma.  Currently Kim is on the Board of Directors and Treasurer for two nonprofit ministries.

Kim thrives as she runs, hikes, and bikes in God’s beautiful creation.  She and Glen enjoy long walks, tent camping, going to the beach, and traveling.  But most of all, Kim is passionate about connecting people to their Heavenly Father and His immense kindness, goodness, and love.

Kristen Walsh

Leadership Team Member

Kristen has been involved in many ministries and activities during her 15+ years at Bethany, leading Bethany’s involvement with Feed My Starving Children (packing over 1 million meals!), going on mission trips, helping in youth ministry and has even mowed the lawn. Kristen, more than anything, loves all things music and art, participating in worship though various instruments she plays, instigating “pop-up art shows” as well as assisting in the creation of large-scale visual art projects that help give a visual to the themes of our sermons and/or seasons at church. Kristen hopes that her wide-ranging interests and experience will be well used on the leadership team as we seek God’s vision for Bethany.

Kristen is a working artist, selling her own art as well as teaching others. Outside of church she can be found with her husband, Patrick by her side, paddling a kayak, hiking or enjoying her favorite state, Maine!

Ken Baker

Leadership Team Member

Ken became a member by transfer from First Evangelical Covenant, Rockford Illinois in 2007 with his wife Karen and two children Stephanie and Nathan.   Since retiring from being a Lubricant Engineer at Pratt & Whitney in 2022 he enjoys hiking, biking, carpentry, chopping wood, and listening to good music of most genres (still cannot tolerate RAP or hip-hop if they are still calling it that).  Ken can be seen at Bethany doing almost anything asked of him; ushering, greeting, setting up tables, cutting grass, etc.  In retirement his fun activity is being the 6am baker of pastries and bread at his local grocery store three days a week.
